Natural history

As part of learning about our local nature, BVN has assisted on a variety of ecological research projects over the years, as well as initiating some of our own. Our first endeavours were to study the Vermilion Lakes area and Mount Yamnuska area. Both have contributed to the knowledge of those areas as well as their protection (they can be found in our archives). More recently, BVN members have contributed information about Banff Springs Snails, Harlequin Ducks and Fungi.
